PARpal - Dry Phone PAR Meter Adapter
A $600 PAR meter equivalent for your phone that does not risk immersing your phone in water?
You can keep your plants and corals healthy with a PAR meter ('photosynthetically active radiation') or a light meter to measure light for optimal colors for photosynthesis and plant growth.
Normally, PAR meters cost a minimum of $500 and software-based PAR applications for the phone require you to put your smartphone in a Ziplock bag and place it under water, on the floor of the fish tank.
- Our product uses a "light collector," a waterproof magnetized card in your fish tank where you would like the light measured
- It includes a second magnet to hold the card in place
- Your smartphone's camera captures the light reading through a hole in the magnet and through the front glass instead of inside the tank
- The light collector is specially color-corrected to ensure accuracy
- A Photone app (a free download) converts your phone's camera to a PAR meter, and your phone stays dry
