what others have said about reverse respiration

Simple & Safe

A Quick and Easy Solution

A Quick and Easy Solution

The beauty of this is the simplicity and safety. A day-one new aquarist with no exceptional education can safely utilize it with no harmful residue or plant damage. And it only costs the price of a bottle of soda pop.

I did this on some X-Mas moss. I just used some store-bought seltzer...Worked great! Wiped out the snails and I've never gotten algae on the moss since.

Improves Plant Health

Improves Plant Health

It was distinctly noticeable a few weeks after treatment; my Java ferns were brighter and healthier looking.

I would mark this experiment as a SUCCESS!! Many of my plant leaves were covered in brown diatoms and were suffering. No matter how many times I tried or how many water changes I did, I couldn't get rid of them. Thanks to KF, I was introduced to Reverse Respiration as an option to save my plants...Everything is looking MUCH better now!

I put my 'pad' of assorted moss just covered in hair algae and BBA in seltzer water over Friday to Monday morning...This morning I rinsed it and put it back in the tank and my mollies have been chowing down on it all day! I can actually see the moss now! Thanks for such a great tool to fight algae.

A Historic Change

Gets Rid of Algae

This should be published formally. A zero-toxicity pesticide and algicide will inevitably change this hobby at a historic level. It's an astonishingly intuitive work...Why would we ever use POISON to clean plants or kill algae again?

I put these plants in seltzer for 16 hours, weighted with a plate, and I kept it in a dark pantry. I left the container uncovered. The plants look healthy coming out of it, and the process appears to have killed this snail. (I didn't even know this snail was on the plants.)

The Science!

A Safer Way to Eliminate Snails

A Safer Way to Eliminate Snails

Reverse Respiration is a scientific approach very rarely seen from a hobbyist.

This is legitimately the most impressive piece of science I have had the pleasure of witnessing from a hobbyist in...maybe ever...It can be immediately used by basically everyone who wants to do so. Not only that, it has a tremendous amount of data and understanding backing it up!

Works on Invisible Pests

A Safer Way to Eliminate Snails

Two Treatments Does the Trick on Stubborn BBA

I used the Reverse Respiration method for the plants I purchased at Aquashella. The plants looked great and on visual inspection appeared clean, but after the seltzer water I found some foreign bodies.

Back in November I RR'd a Java fern infested with black beard algae. I treated it for 12 hours then put it back in the tank. The algae was only half gone. Unsatisfied, I retreated it again, one month later. This time for 16 hours. That did the trick...This is one of the most lush windelov java ferns I have seen. Just stunning.

Bacteria's Worst Enemy

Two Treatments Does the Trick on Stubborn BBA

Bacteria's Worst Enemy

Used Reverse Respiration to eliminate some cyanobacteria on plants, only took an overnight soak. Two months later, and minimal tank care on my part, and the cyanobacteria has not come back.
